Aspen World Synchro Championships
    ASPEN WORLD SYNCHRO CHAMPIONSHIPS SYNC JUDGES
    past and present

    There are five judging categories:

       * Sync
       * Technical Skiing
       * Overall appeal
       * Degree of difficulty
       * Falls

    One judge scores technical skiing; one judge scores sync, one judge scores overall appeal, one judge
    confirms degree of difficulty, one judge scores deductions of falls, head judge monitors all scores.

    Gregor Neal - Head Judge
    25th year teaching...21 at Vail/Beaver Creek. Co-founder of the BC Demo program in 1993. Managed
    and coached the team up until winning the World championship in 2000. Have judged Synchro World
    championships at Vail, Whistler and Aspen as well as Powder 8's competitions in New England over the
    past 7 years.  And the Synchroski Carving Championships 2010

    Vance Lemley
    PSI A fully certified instructor, 32 years.
    PSIA Examiner 27 years.
    USSCA  Level 3 coach 27 years.
    Competed in sync skiing championships for Aspen for 10 years.
    Currently a trainer for the ski schools of aspen.
    15 years in the Ski Schools of Aspen

    Rick Vetromile
    Ski instructor in Aspen since 67. Examiner. 15 years of sync skiing on an Aspen team. Wife and
    daughter 14. Live in Maui in the summer.

    Jim Schanzenbaker
    Ski Professional and Trainer for Ski Schools of Aspen

    Doc Tulin
    Currently Director of Marketing at Attitash Mountain Resort, and teaching since 1979, former demo
    team member and coach at Beaver Creek, Former Race Director at Eldora and a former ski school
    manager at Okemo 4 time winner of World Synchro Ski Championships when it was held in Vail,  2
    time winner New England Powder 8s, current head judge New England Powder 8's/Eastern Carving 8's.

    Tom Jacobson
    USSA Alpine Official Certifications:
    Level 1 Coach
    Level 2 Timing and Calculations
    Level 1 Referee
    Judged  3 Synchro World Championships and 2 National Championships , 2nd time here in Aspen
    Veteran as an Alpine Race Official of over 80 world cup races and National Championships in Park City
    and Vail plus the 1989 and 1999 World Alpine Championships
    Has residences in Denver and San Francisco and skis out of Squaw Valley while volunteering at ski
    races around Tahoe. Works for the Federal government in financial law enforcement and spends his
    weekdays seizing banks.
    Says he's not a PSIA'er and won't be seen in the Sky Bar moving his hands showing what edge angle his
    skis were on or discussing turn radius but will listen to you do so for a wheat beer.

    Joel Munn
    Joel is originally from Lake Placid, N.Y. He is now an Examiner Emeritus with PSIA. He's judged this
    event 6 times, the World Powder 8 Championships twice, the National Powder 8 Championships 9
    times. He has managed ski schools in Australia and New Zealand, was Ski School Director at
    Breckenridge, The Canyons in Utah and Bear Mt. California and is currently a trainer for the Vail Ski
    and Snowboard School.

    Adam Hosie
    I come from Beaver Creek, CO and Thredbo, Australia.
    This is my first time judging an event like this. I have competed for 6 years in Demo skiing competitions
    in the US, Canada and Switzerland, and I have been an APSI examiner for 7 years.
