I combine the disciplines of psychology and organizational behavior with my personal experience and beliefs about learning and coaching to bring
fresh perspectives and make new actions possible to my clients.
The goal in coaching is to encourage clients to make the best use of their expertise, to understand different facets of the context, and expand the
limitations imposed by their definitions, perceptions and beliefs about themselves and their environment.

Dr. Deepa Awalâ€™s passion is to support individuals, teams and organizations
achieve their full potential. Her training in Organization Behavior enables her
to develop and implement organizational development efforts, coach senior
executives, design and deliver leadership and teambuilding workshops, and
assist start up companies in developing vision and strategy. She helps her
clients lead their colleagues and teams towards higher achievement and
Deepa has conducted cross-cultural research on the developmental experiences
of senior level executives in India, and has initiated and led the international
effort of an established university to enhance the opportunities for multi-cultural
growth of the student body. She has taught International Business and
Organization Behavior at New York University and Villanova University at
both graduate and undergraduate levels. Her articles have been published in
the Journal of Management, proceedings from the Academy of Management
and The Practice of Management Development.
Deepaâ€™s work rests on the belief that people have a remarkable ability to learn, change and create new possibilities. The goal is to encourage
clients to make the best use of their expertise, understand different facets of the context, and expand the limitations imposed by their definitions,
perceptions and beliefs about themselves and their environment.
Recent assignments include enhancing the vitality and effectiveness of the work environment of a prestigious university with a climate survey
followed by feedback on results, facilitating top management discussions at a start-up company and individual coaching for their senior
managers, and enhancing leadership skills for high potential managers via individual and group coaching based on 360 reviews,. Clients include
Union Carbide, Morgan Stanley, CSFB, Deutsche Bank, and ATS (India).
Deepa is an active member of the Newfield Networkâ€”an organization that is committed to enhancing the effectiveness of individuals and
groups by changing the way they interact with their environment. In this role, she has coached individuals and groups and helped them generate
new interpretations and possibilities for action. She is an accredited coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF), and holds a diploma in
Coaching from Newfield Network. She is also a certified Facilitator for Benchmarks (a 360 performance review), and the Synectics Process of
Problem Solving and Teambuilding.
In addition to earning a PhD at the NYU Stern School of Business, Deepa also served as a research assistant at Yale and completed her
undergraduate and masters degrees in economics at Delhi University and Bombay University. She continues her studies in philosophy in India
and maintains active involvement in her community by conducting group coaching workshops for women.
